U-Adv Athaly Khan, oyiHead of Fraud Risk Management eStandard Bank, wexwayisa abathengi ngokuthi bangabi budedengu ngamakhadi abo asebhange, kumele ikhadi lomuntu lingasuki emehlweni akhe, futhi aliphathise okwezikhali zamaNtungwa. Kubikwa ukuthi izigebengu ziyakwazi ukuntshontsha imininingwane yamakhadi abantu uma bethenga online, bese ziyisebenzisa ukuthenga.
Ngokusho kuka-Adv Khan, otsotsi abadingi ukuthi baze babe nekhadi lomuntu, kodwa bakwazi ukusebenzisa imininingwane yalo ikhadi, okuwubugebengu obubizwa ngokuthi Card-Not Present (CNP). Imininingwane abayintshontshayo yinombolo yekhadi, i-expiry date yekhadi, nenombolo ebizwa ngeCVV (card verification value).
Lobu bugebengu bokuntshontshwa kwemininingwane yamakhadi abantu kubikwa ukuthi budlange ezinkundleni ezahlukene, njengakulezo zokuxhumana nakuma-website lapho kuye kube nezikhangiso eziphayizayo (pop-up ads).
Ukuchofoza kulezi zikhangiso bese ufaka imininingwane yakho, uthenge leyo nto esuke ikhangiswa yikhona kanye okubeka umuntu engcupheni.
IStandard Bank ithi abanye abantu bagaxela ngokufaka imininingwane yabo kuma-website awumkokotelo, abasuke bezitshela ukuthi asemthethweni. Enye indlela futhi okubikwa ukuthi abantu babanjwa ngayo yilawa ma-link asuke eqhamuka kwabathile, okuye kuthiwe abantu abachofe bangene kuwo.
U-Adv Khan wexwayisa ngokuthi izigelekeqe ziyakwazi ukusebenzisa ubuchwepheshe, zicwaninge ukuthi yini umuntu avame ukuyibheka kwi-inthanethi, bese zimcupha noma zimdobe ngezikhangisi ezihambisana nalokho avame ukukubheka kwi-inthanethi.
Izindlela abantu abangazivikela ngazo kulobu bugebengu wukuthi:
• Kumele umuntu asebenzise ama-App atholakala kuphela kwiGoogle Play noma ku-Apple App Store.
• Kumele umuntu ahlale ebuyekeza (update) ukusebenza kwe-App ukuqinisekisa ukuthi uthola ama-feature aqikelela ukuphepha.
• Gwema ukugcineka kwemininingwane yekhadi kuma-App, ngaphandle uma kunesidingo. Futhi kumele usebenzise izindlela eziphephile zokukhokha njengePayPal noma i-Apple Pay uma kwenzeka.
• Hlolisisa i-URL, okuyi-address ye-website, yanoma yiliphi ikhasi ongena kulona. Qinisekisa ukuthi akukho okusolisayo ngayo.
• Qaphela izikhangiso ezisolisayo, ezidayisa imikhiqizo emangazayo.
• Sebenzisa lokho okubizwa ngokuthi yiTwo-Factor Authentication (2FA) kuma-akhawunti akho kuma-App ukuze uqikelele ukuphepha kwakho. Kuleyo 2FA kungaba yi-pin bese mhlawumbe usebenzisa isithupha (fingerprint) noma ubuso (face recognition).
• Sebenzisa lokho okubizwa nge-ad blocking tool (okuyithuluzi lokuvimbela lezi zikhangiso eziphayizayo, ezihlala zilokhu ziqhamuka).
• Ungalokothi uchofoze kulezi zikhangiso eziphayizayo noma ungene kuma-link ongawaqondi kahle. Okungcono wukuthi ngaso sonke isikhathi uzibhalele ngokwakho i-URL yewebhusayithi ngqo kwi-browser.
• I-software yakho ye-antivirus mayihlale isesimweni esikahle (update) ukuze ikwazi ukuhlonza nokuhogela ama-link asolisayo.
